Many hands make light work.✨🙌 . Recently I spent a day ripping out the old floors at Goldie’s with a few friends I’ve known for more than 40 years. Guys I grew up with. What made the day even more special was that their sons came out to help too. Watching the next generation swing hammers and haul debris alongside us was pretty cool….a quiet reminder of who we once were. Grateful for friendships that stand the test of time, and for the people who show up to lend a hand when it matters. Old floors out. New chapter going in. Sometimes the right move is the one you were a little nervous to make in the first place. We had a plan for the floor. Something a bit different. A little more color, a little more personality. Then we uncovered the old hardwood and for a minute we thought… maybe we play it safe. Refinish it, keep it classic. Had a few experts come in to take a look. Turns out the old floor had lived its life already. Not worth saving. If we wanted hardwood, it meant ripping it all out and starting from scratch. So the decision kind of made itself. Back to the original plan — VCT. Affordable, durable, and honestly it fits the retro vibe of Goldie’s way better anyway. Under all of this… I see possibility. When we pulled down the ceiling and found newspaper from 1951, it stopped me. Time has a way of reminding you that nothing starts with you — and nothing ends with you either. I still feel a little fear. The quiet doubts. The “what if this doesn’t work?” moments. I’m learning that courage isn’t the absence of those feelings. It’s choosing to step forward anyway.
