Singing live for me is basically like riding a roller coaster 🎢. I’m the type of person that also functions almost like a hummingbird. I have that enormous feeling in my chest that I could explode into a million little pieces of shrapnel at any moment. Preparing for any show big or small I feel an enormous pressure to do the fucking best, and almost like it’s a life or death situation lol. It’s funny how our brains work. Mine especially.
Performing live didn’t come easy to me and sometimes my overactive mind can get the best of me. But, I try to think of my anxiety as excitement now and give that feeling a more positive name. It’s easy to think of these feelings as negative instead of what they could be if you changed your frame of mind.
So, my rollercoaster starts the day I know I have a show coming up. And everyday that I prepare for it I’m going up, chick, chick, chick, until I hit the top and come out to say hello to you. That’s when I have no control but the preparation kicks in.
