Still a little in awe 🤍 Reliving the Critics’ Choice @ccblackcinema Awards after they aired on @starz has been overwhelming in the best way. To be recognized with the Breakthrough Performance Award is something I don’t take lightly, it felt like a deep exhale, a moment to pause and really receive. Playing Achillia in @spartacusstarz changed me. She demanded strength, discipline, vulnerability, and trust, and I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who believed in this character and made space for her to exist. Thank you to the storytellers, the community, and the people who keep showing up for this work. I feel so held and so motivated all at once. Spartacus may have been cancelled by STARZ, but the fighting spirit inside of me will never be. ⚔️ I poured my blood, sweat, tears, soul, and spirit into bringing Achillia to life. Helping to birth the first female gladiator in the Spartacus universe...What an absolute honor that has been. But Achillia was never the end of my story. She was the beginning. Before Spartacus, I was a gladiator. And I will remain one. This journey reminded me that no opportunity is wasted when you give it everything you have. Every battle, every bruise, every lesson has shaped me. And for that, I choose gratitude. Always. I was told a lot of things about myself on that show. And for a long time… I believed them. What people don’t always see is what happens after reality TV. The impact it has on your self-worth, your identity, your voice. It took me years to rewrite that narrative for myself. So yes, I can appreciate the platform… but I will always be honest about the cost. And I’m really glad the conversation is finally shifting 🤍
