First Father’s Day without my dad, who always made me feel like his little girl even when I was too big. Haven’t found the words to express how much I’ve missed him since he passed last fall, yet I feel he’s always with me. He wasn’t always easy, enjoyed ‘to stir the pot’, and challenge us all in different ways but he was loving, supportive, honest, confident, assuring, ever curious, mischievous, and a sportsman to the end. He was a Veterinarian, taught us to ride, and the responsibilities of living on a farm and, from his countless hobbies, he inspired many of our own. From sports such as riding, pentathlon, rugby… to art, photography, even gardening. He often had a video camera on hand and encouraged my own interest in photography and film both in front of and behind the lense. We shared a love of food and exotic fruits, whisky tasting, hot baths and saunas. He basically wore a onesie, his infamous overalls, well before they became fashionable, and dressed with an old English style of his own. He had a strong but reassuring touch with animals which also influenced my interest in physical therapies and Thai massage. And I am grateful that, especially in his last months, he would trust my hands with that care and touch he so inspired. He touched so many, in so many ways, both man and animal alike … and I haven’t begun to list his accomplishments. Truly one of a kind, I love and miss you dearly dad. ✨❤️ #Happyfathersday
