Nestled between Sicily and the North African coast, in the middle of the Mediterranean is a tiny cluster of beautiful islands known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, French and British. It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and a deliciously diverse culinary culture. We, @terroirtalk brought a small delegation to Malta and dove straight into the glorious sites, feasted on the delicious food from local and historical to Michelin and of course indulged in their unique wines. We visited farms developing innovative agri-tourism and learned about ancient apiaries. We walked upon the tombs of great knights buried under the marble floors of the majestic St Johns Cathedral and gazed at the rich Baroque art and relics. We fell in love while absorbing the rich historical significance of Malta’s fascinating roots that season the warm and gracious local hosts.
