🗣 Your follower count doesn’t matter as much as you think it does👇🏻 ❌ Having 10k followers is not the answer to your failing business and its not the key to a successful one. 💡This idea came up in a group call in The Entrepreneurs Academy last week and I think it’s super important for business owners (especially if you’re just starting your business instagram). Of course if you’re using Instagram for your business, the more eyeballs the better. I’m not disputing that, but there are people with 80k followers who are broke as a joke and people with 1k followers absolutely killing it 🙏🏻 So instead of putting all of your energy into growing your following and obsessing over numbers, consider nurturing the audience you already have. Those 1k people have already signed up and they are along for the ride! Imagine speaking in front of 1,000 people even 200 people, that would not seem like a small audience 👏🏻 🙋🏼‍♀️We focus a lot in our business on customer retention not JUST customer acquisition, and the same principle should be applied to your instagram strategy. It is a lot easier to convert someone who is already in your client funnel than someone brand new! If you’re at the beginning stages remember it’s about so much more than the number. How to market a launch effectively 🚀 First start building and nurturing your audience like yesterday 🙌🏻 Marketing & lead generation should not be an afterthought, it should be one of the first things you put into motion when creating the offer you want to launch 🚀 The biggest mistake I see is people waiting until a week before their launch to generate leads, it is going to be nearly impossible to sell out with only cold leads. You want to nurture your audience over weeks (if you are just starting out) to build the know, like & trust factor that is essential for booking out a launch. And don’t forget to drop little hints & teasers to get your audience excited 🙏🏻 How do we nurture our audience and build our client funnel before our launch? 👇🏻 ✨Organic marketing- with a content strategy on instagram, Facebook, Pinterest etc. Use all of these wonderful platforms to provide consistent, valuable content and build relationships. Just posting on Instagram isn’t a content strategy, you will want to be really intentional with your content especially leading up to a launch. ✨Lower/ entry level offer- this is a great way to get people familiar with you and into your client funnel. Once someone has purchased from you they are SO much more likely to purchase from you again (think client retention not just client acquisition for your launch). This could be things like a bundle for $17 or a workshop for $37. ✨Freebies- one of the best ways to grow your email list (and your email list is such an important tool in your launch 👌🏻). Create freebies based on market research from your ideal client, offer real value and solve a problem. Promote it in your content through posts, stories, emails and collabs! ✨Keep track of your leads- you want to know who your hot & warm leads are when you launch. Sales can slip through the cracks if you aren’t on top of this and the more your business grows the more important this is! Track things like when you had your first conversation, if they received a freebie, if a call was booked etc. You can simply do this on an excel sheet to start off! 5 tips for creating video content/reels 🎥 (save for later 👉🏻) It’s no secret video content is blowing up right now and increasing engagement for so many accounts on Instagram! Users are loving bite sized video content because it’s quick and entertaining ✨ If you’re not already using video content you should be, & here’s why 👇🏻 Reels now have their own explore page, they have a longer shelf life on the app (2 weeks vs 48 hrs for a regular post) and instagram wants to dominate the social media game and beat its competitors so they are really pushing this new (ish) feature! Here are some tips to keep in mind when creating video content (these tricks really help with engagement so make sure to try, save this post for later & let me know how these work for you 💜) 1. Use trending music! Even if you are going to be talking in your video you can add music and turn the volume down, but still come up for the trending sound. Tik tok & instagram will show you trending music/ sounds and you can also google what’s trending. 2. Try to use music directly from the music library when creating a reel instead of adding your own (algorithm likes this). 3. Hook viewers in the first few seconds of your video! Just like you have a hook on your written captions to grab attention, it’s important to grab people’s attention in the first few seconds of the video. 4. Create your reels directly from the reels camera as often as possible (the algorithm likes this for some reason as well 🤷🏼‍♀️) 5. Don’t repost your tik toks videos with tik tok watermarks to Instagram- these could potentially get flagged and hidden so stick to making your reels on this app (instagram invented reels to compete with tik tok so when using Instagram, use their features to keep them happy!) ✨ RUNNING A BUSINESS ✨ What you see vs what you don’t see... I LOVE what I do but it’s important to remember instagram is a highlight reel 📷 And entrepreneurship is a damn roller coaster🎢 I get to work for myself, make my own hours, have autonomy and freedom I wouldn’t have in a 9-5. I have no income cap and have had 5 figure launches, recurring passive income and multiple income streams. I get to work with women across the WORLD expand their reach & message and create financial freedom for themselves 💵 I also have weekly breakdowns in my kitchen wondering if I can handle it all. My boyfriend has to constantly remind me I work to live not live to work. I still work 7 days a week (mostly because I love what I do but also because there’s a s*** ton to do). I am so lucky to have a biz partner and a team but that means we do a LOT of delegating and managing 👩🏼‍💻 Would I change it? No. Running a business is the most stressful, overwhelming, beautiful, rewarding thing I’ve done. I have good days and bad days but most of the time I’m so so thankful 🙏🏻 If you’re just starting or thinking of starting a business know there will be hard days but if you are fully committed & passionate it’s SO worth it ✨ Where are my other business owners at? Are you trying to do it ALL? ✨Clubhouse ✨Instagram ✨Facebook ✨Tik tok ✨LinkedIn Anyone else overwhelmed by that list? 🤯 There seems to be a new platform every other week, and it’s a lot for content creators, influencers and online business owners to keep up with. Doing it all doesn’t mean you’re doing any of it right. And you don’t have to do it all to be successful. It’s possible to have a very successful business with one social media platform as your main lead gen/ marketing tool. It’s cool though that we have all of these platforms to choose from, which might work better for different people. For example clubhouse is almost like a mini podcast/ conference room and is great if you love speaking or want to practice this skill. Tik tok is great if you love being behind the camera and creating video content 📷 If you’re feeling overwhelmed by it all 👇🏻 I say try them on and see what fits, see how you like to create content, see what your audience likes and see what converts well and if you see traction stick to it until it’s really working for you. What works SO well for Suzy and her business might not be best suited for you and your business! I have been subject to shiny object syndrome and wanting to try it all, but honestly I’ve had the most success when I pick one thing and go ALL in. Friendly reminder, for any other overachievers out there who think they have to do it ALL, ALL of the time. WHAT TYPES OF HASHTAGS SHOULD YOU BE USING? I break it down in this post 👉🏻 save for later 💗   Hashtags (if used correctly) can explode your reach and discoverability. I have had hashtags result in 6x the amount of organic search from my feed/followers. Unfortunately, Instagram shows your post to about 10% of your followers and hashtags give you a free way to reach people who don’t follow you. This breakdown is useful for using hashtags that are specific to your ideal client and who you are targeting with your marketing 🙏🏻   4 types of hashtags 👇🏻(check out the slides for examples of each)   ✨ Niche specific hashtags: these are hashtags that are specific to a target audience you are trying to reach! They will usually have less search volume because they are so niche.   ✨Community hashtags: these are hashtags that represent a community of like-minded people. Instagram has communities of people within the app itself!   ✨Audience descriptive hashtags: these are hashtags that describe a community and how people identify themselves. This is slightly different from community hashtags because it’s related to how people identify themselves.   ✨Content hashtags: these are directly related to the post itself and the content within it. Instagram has image recognition software and you can be reported for using hashtags that aren’t related to you post.   This is just the tip of the iceberg with using hashtags effectively to grow your reach. 🙋🏼‍♀️I deleted Instagram over the weekend ❌ I woke up saturday morning and went straight for my phone and instagram.... then I just decided to delete the app. I was called to have a social media detox for the weekend (and not feel guilty about it 💃🏼) 👩🏼‍💻 Even though my work is primarily online, I still need a social media detox. Even though I literally work in social media, I still need a break (and maybe because of this?)🤷🏼‍♀️ 🙋🏼‍♀️ We all need reminders that life happens outside of these little boxes and sometimes we need a break & a reality check ✔️ I spent more time reading, cooking, not being on my phone, being present, spending QT with my bubble 🙏🏻 With all that being said 👇🏻 This app allows me to connect with women ALL across the world 🌎 , and I am so grateful for that. ✨ 3 things I would tell myself before starting a business ✨ Tax, numbers, expenses & legal- it’s not fun but you have to do it. If you’re like me this can get a little overwhelming and you’d rather pretend it doesn’t exist and push it aside 🙈🙋🏼‍♀️ It’s all necessary and important for your business. Ask questions, research & if it’s way too outside your wheelhouse outsource it 👏🏻 Treat yourself like an employee sometimes- similar to the idea of “would you say to your best friend what you say to yourself in the mirror”. A lot of the time we are our own worst critic, be as nice and kind to yourself as you would to your team members. If you had an employee come to you and say they need a mental health day or they have a migraine you would offer them support and give them the necessary time off. Do the same for you, you cannot give from an empty cup🙏🏻 RELAX. LAUGH. BREATHE. You will mess up, more than once. You will want to give up, more than once. You will think you can’t do it, but you can. It will all be okay, I promise! I know running a business can be stressful but the more fun I have and the more I allow myself space & laughter the more I can appreciate what I do as a whole.
